This Hoverfly used her(?) little suction-cup feet to sit on my kitchen window. It seemed like she was saying, "I'm ready for my closeup!" Love the black Stevie Nicks shawl...

Dear Jean, browsing through your beautifull site the former biologist in me popped out 😄. I think you pictured a hoverfly here. So no stings to be weary of. They dress like bees (or wasps) to scare of predators a phenomenon called mimicry. Here is a link on the difference between the two: https://www.backyardecology.net/hoverfly/
Lots of love and wishing you succes in dealing with life as is and finding happiness.

Thank you for that, Kindest! I loved learning about the Hoverfly, and if one ever lands on me I'll let it sip my sweat, without fear that it will stink or bite me. :-)
